nifty ninth - stall no. 9
Friday-Saturday (16-17 April 2021)
GUYS!
Remember how we said in our last post that we were gonna do a double-day stall for #9??
You guessed it - we did!
And we are so excited to share our experience with you all! There were so many new things we achieved and we even introduced an amazing new aspect of our business which we are already very grateful for. What is it? Well, you'll just have to read on to find out!
We've written a mini entry for each day below - happy reading!
Friday (16th April)
Okay so we've added a new feature to our stall. Since Little Spools is all about reducing the impacts of fast fashion/consumerism by considering our clothing and accessory choices, we put a stand at the front of our stall where we hung some barely-used, outgrown dresses from our (my sister and I) childhood. They are still stunning and in perfect condition, so we figured they would be great to pass on down to the next generation of (wannabe) princesses! (P.S. the dress hanging in front with the rainbow skirt is an absolute MUST for any little royal out there.) Not to mention that they were all affordably priced ranging from $5 to $10 including the other (women's size) ones Mum added from her own wardrobe. They were all an instant hit and we sold nearly all of the girls' dresses (the rainbow one too!). Definitely a must-continue!Another new thing - On Friday the market closes late (9pm). This was a little bit of a challenge since we were used to closing by 4, and by the end of the day we did have some difficulty keeping our eyes open. However, business slowed down considerably in the last half-hour or so, and thanks to a yumsy dinner brought by Dad we were able to "keep calm and carry on" right to the end. We didn't have to pack anything up since we were coming back the next day - what an added breather! We'll certainly do another two-day stint next school holidays because it's well worth the effort. (Special note: all our amigurumi, including Rey, sold out!)
Last thing before we wrap up Friday's entry. People have been telling us we should set up social media pages for a while now, but we've been really busy in between markets trying to keep up with replacing what's sold and introducing new products. Plus don't forget school, work, and everyday life! So in our little pockets of time today we finally got an Instagram account for Little Spools - yayyy. Better late than never! And just in time for us to be featured on Perth City Market's story as budding entrepreneurs and given a shoutout. Our follower list is building up steadily and we can't wait to begin posting more announcements!
Rating for Friday: 10/10
That's the day wrapped up! Scroll down for Saturday :)
Saturday (17th April)
Continuing on from yesterday - we had a little less crowd today (not sure why) but business was still satisfactory. We added a section of novelty tee shirts courtesy of a friend to our stall and they did attract some attention to our products! We were blessed with one or two relatively large purchases today which really helped our total amounts. Not much was different otherwise from yesterday but we did get a nice email back from one of our customers today after the stall offering encouragement. We were so pleased to hear that they were satisfied with the products they bought and now we're definitely motivated to keep on sewing!

To finish off...
