BLOG UPDATE: What's happening with my stall posts, and more!
Read on to learn about what's going to happen moving forward with this blog!
Hi everyone!
This is a post that has been in the works for a while now - it's been sitting on my "drafts" page for the better part of two months. But hooray, it's finally done! All because I decided to finish it up as part of writing a fuller response to several questions I've received about my stall posts.
(PS: I snuck in time from exam study and countless pages of notes to write this - so I really truly do hope it helps you all!)
Ever since I started this blog, I've been making posts for each of my stalls - this was my very first one, and I still look back on it with happy thoughts! I've absolutely loved sharing my experience for each stall I've done so far, but once I got beyond the first 10 or so, my entries started to get a little repetitive.
Additionally, I've started posting on Instagram more frequently about my stalls and I've found that to be easier than sitting down to write a nice detailed blog post about every stall. Since most of them are quite repetitive (same location, same style, etc) they're not very interesting to keep reading as blog entries! I've found that I get a better customer and public response from Instagram stall posts than blog entries - this is probably due to better convenience, etc.
So I've decided to make a few changes to this blog - hopefully this will keep my tirade of posts from becoming stale/boring/repetitive/not interesting at all!
Okaaay... soo what's actually coming up?
1) I won't be posting something for every single stall I do! Instead, I'll be writing an update every now and then just so you guys can still be up-to-date on everything to do with our markets.
I'm basing this decision on the audience feedback I've received as well as my own personal thoughts about this matter. So, these periodic posts will cover (briefly) the past few markets I've done, as well as dates/times/locations for the next few coming up. This way, I'll still cover the necessities which many of my fam and friends find helpful to have handy, but leave out the boring repetitive parts of "we did this again...etc".
Of course, you can still find updates for each stall on my Instagram (@littlespools.byash), which will serve as a platform for more regular accounts of my market happenings!
2) One of my goals for this blog is to be a space where I can share more of what I love to do, crazy projects or interesting things that I chance across, pattern/yarn reviews, WIP updates, and whatever random post ideas I think up!
I want to highlight the distinction between my Instagram and blog. My Insta will primarily be used for shorter updates (eg. stall posts and WIP videos/stories), whereas my blog is where most of my audience already hops onto to find more detailed posts about my life, projects, creations, and inspirations.
So, I'll be focusing less on posts about stalls and updates and all that admin-y stuff on this blog - that's what Instagram is for. This blog will be more about sharing the deeper side of things to capture the essence of #whyimake.
Did that last part sound a tad enigmatic and vague? Hopefully not toooo much beyond poetic beauty! But if I do, here's an updated list of upcoming posts I'm hopefully going to get around to doing! (95% sure!) So stay tuned for these goodies:
In no particular order,
- My NEW original amigurumi design (to be revealed soon!)
- Pattern review for a beautiful little pattern by Sweet Softies (also TBR soon)
- More Speciality Amigurumi rounds
- Roundup post on the crochet cuties I made for my teachers this Christmas
- First life update post for 2022
So that's all from me today, and I hope that with the addition of these new changes, my blog can grow even more from what it already is today. Thank you all for the support you've given me over the past year and a bit - it means eons to me!
As always, I would love to hear your input on anything at all - from whether the moon's made of cheese (it SO is) to what kind of yarn I like for amigurumi. (Or if you just wanna rant about how Thomas Brodie Sangster is amazing in every way, I'm your man - I can already hear my friends groaning!! :p)
Take care and see you soon!! (Stall #18, Nov 27th at Perth City Market!)
Best wishes,
Ashlyne :))
