Blog Post Update (follow up!)

Hey everyone!

This is a quick update that I forgot to include my earlier post announcing a few new changes to my blog. For reference you can still find my Life Update 2021 post (which was my first post after being inactive from July-November 2021) and subsequently the Blog Update I posted later that month to explain what's the new function of this blog. You can read more about that in that article!

If you've read it already, you'll remember that I announced a couple of changes to how my posts on this blog are going to be structured and what I'll be mainly focusing on. I forgot to include a very important part but as I've already explained the gist of it in that post I'mma make this update short and sweet!

As of November 2021 onwards, all new material added to the blog will be under version 2.0 of the Little Spools blog. Which means that any post dated before November 2, 2021 (to be exact) is old blog material (Dec 2020 - July 2021). This doesn't mean it's invalid or won't be available to read: it will still be there, but there are some differences between the old post and new post versions.

  • All of the older posts are written in a different format: I use "we" and "our" in the old posts when referring to Little Spools because it was mainly about our stalls. The only times you'll see "I" and "my" are occasionally in my Craft Diary posts.
  • The new version means that all posts will be written from an "I" and "my" perspective (in other words, first person) to reduce confusion; I had lots of readers asking 'are all of you writing each post or is it just you Ashlyne?' and 'why is it that some posts are "we" and some are "I"'?
  • Older posts all have titles that are all stylised in a lowercase format (like "efficacious eleventh" and "masked up!"). This was our initial design choice for the blog.
  • New posts have uppercase (properly styled) titles, AND new post headers/banner images for announcements and special projects! (like the one on this post!) I just feel like this is a more refined style which suits Little Spools better, and capitalised words attract more attention and aren't so passive.

Well, I said this was going to be a short one - it's my last day of holidays and I'm off to catch some fun floating around my house! (A new book from the secondhand bookstore I found yesterday, or maybe a new netflix series :D)

Have a happy week!

Stay safe,
Ashlyne :)
